Ah the wonderful yet very awkward gut wrenching scary but very fun experience of dating sites. Yet we all have signed up for at least one at some point in life. Whether it be for recognition, actual love, or just for sex we have probably seen and done it all.

1995 was the birth of the very first dating site, Match.com. Match offers 12 languages in over 50 countries. If you’re searching for something real and long term then match is the site for you.

In 2012 the lovely Tinder was born, and so was the, “swipe left/right mentality.” Basically how it works is you swipe left if you aren’t interested and you swipe right if you are interested. But what most people don’t know, is that it is all psychological.

It is actually said that in theatre those who move left are seen in negative form and those who move right are seen in positive form. Giving left negative vibes and right positive vibes, so to say.

The swipe left/right mentality is very much psychological. The human brain is and always will be programmed to go with the flow whether it’s subconscious or not. In this sense it just wont feel right if left meant right because we tend to associate right with morally good, true, or correct which indicates that swiping right is in fact the right choice. Yea that sounds a little ridiculous, but you get the point!

It is all psychological. Subconsciously we are robots. Simple as that.

Good luck in finding love, but remember just because you were left swiped it does not mean you are not morally good, it just meant the person who swiped had different interests.
